Pub boss Craig Speirs was delighted to receive the award again but was sure to give praise to his staff for making it possible.

And Craig had double reason to celebrate, as his Rutherglen boozer the Old Oak Inn took the top prize for South Lanarkshire too.

He told Lanarkshire Live: “It is a real honour to be given this award again for the third year running.

“We won in both 2018 and 2019, and 2020 was a void year due to the pandemic.

“It really gives a boost to the staff as they can see their hard work is paying off.

“We set the standard for customer service and tell them what we expect but really the staff go above and beyond and that shows with the award.

“You can also see how great the staff are when you read online reviews from customers.

“Most of them mention how well they were treated and I am really proud of that.

“That also then paints a great picture for us when hiring new staff and we can show them they are joining a high quality and dedicated team.”

And Craig hopes to keep up the momentum by welcoming familiar faces back, as well as catering for new ones.

They are launching new menus soon to cater to various diets, meaning everyone will feel welcome at the Electric Bar.

He added: “There will soon be vegetarian and gluten-free menus for customers.

“We hope this shows we are a welcoming and friendly place and that everyone will feel comfortable and happy when they are at the Electric Bar.”
