Alice Carey, prosecuting, said: “The woman says that throughout their six-year relationship the accused was consistently abusive towards her.
“When she was pregnant he punched her on the stomach and smashed her phone.
“A neighbour overheard the disturbance and contacted the police. Officers noted the victim was upset but she did not disclose any criminality at that time.
“On another occasion Fabian struck her ribs and face, causing bruising. Again, this was not reported to the police.
“During summer 2020 a friend witnessed the accused push his partner as they walked downstairs, causing her to stumble head first into a glass cabinet.
“Throughout the relationship Fabian was also verbally abusive and several times the woman tried to leave, but he threatened violence should she do that.
“She finally reported the abuse when he sent her pictures of a crossbow and bolt with the message, ‘see what I can do’. This caused her significant fear and alarm.”
Fabian also admitted breaching bail conditions by contacting the woman on numerous occasions between July and September this year.
On one occasion he turned up at a house in Davaar Drive, Motherwell, punched a hole in a wall and “acted aggressively” while carrying a retractable baton.
Sheriff Linda Nicolson deferred sentence until next month for background reports and an electronic tagging order assessment.
Fabian, who has been in prison since September, was again remanded in custody.
