A Lanarkshire MSP is urging constituents using a prepayment meter for gas or electricity to ensure they have redeemed energy rebate vouchers.
The latest figures show that almost one-third of Scottish households with prepayment meters have not redeemed energy rebate vouchers.
More than 867,000 vouchers were issued in Scotland under the Energy Bills Support Scheme between October and December last year but more than 273,000 vouchers have not been redeemed.

Motherwell and Wishaw MSP Clare Adamson said: “It is concerning to see the high number of energy rebate vouchers which have not been redeemed.
“Of course, this will be for a variety of reasons but I am urging my constituents in Motherwell and Wishaw to make sure you are receiving every bit of support during the cost-of-living crisis.
“Your energy suppliers can reissue lost or expired vouchers up until the schemes closing date of June 30 2023.
“Check unopened mail in case the vouchers have been issued or contact your electricity company for more help.
“You can also contact Advice Direct Scotland on 0808 800 9060 for free, practical, and impartial advice on a range of issues including dealing with your electricity supplier.
“The Scottish Government has a dedicated cost-of-living support website at https://costofliving.campaign.gov.scot/ with additional free resources.”
