Man’s body found in Strathclyde Park as police launch probe into Motherwell death

THE body of a man has been discovered at a park in Motherwell.

Police were called to Strathclyde Park after a woman raised the alarm around 10am yesterday.

On arrival, the man’s body was recovered from the loch.

His death is not being treated as suspicious but police enquiries are ongoing.

A spokesperson for the force said: “We were called around 10am on Tuesday, 1 December, 2020 to a report of a body being seen in the loch, near to Spine Road in Motherwell.

“The body of man has been recovered.

“There are no suspicious circumstances and enquiries are ongoing.”

It comes as a man died after a police incident on Glasgow’s busiest motorway.

Officers raced to the area at junction 14, Blochairn Interchange, after the alarm was raised in connection with concern for a person around 6am this morning.

Emergency services attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

His death is not being treated as suspicious.
