North Lanarkshire Council said the teams worked together to recover the non-compliant from premises in Airdrie.

The supersized vapes have 10ml and 15ml tanks which exceed the 2ml legal limit. They are not correctly registered, which makes them illegal to sell.

Inspector Gavin Tuohy said: “This was an intelligence led joint operation with Trading Standards which saw a considerable amount of illegal vapes being recovered from premises in Airdrie this week.

“If you have information on the illegal sale of vape products or tobacco you can report this to Police Scotland on 101, to your local authority Trading Standards Department, or to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
