‘XL Bully’ put to sleep after attacking teen outside of Scots flat blocks

A teenager was rushed to hospital after being attacked by an ‘XL Bully’.

Emergency services rushed to a block of flats Anderson Street, Motherwell, around 11.20am on Wednesday to reports of a dog injuring an 18-year-old man.

The animal – understood to be an XL Bully – was later put to sleep, Glasgow Live reports.

The 18-year-old was rushed to hospital for treatment for his injuries, the nature of which is currently unknown.

Police have confirmed that the dog has since been euthanised.

A spokesperson said: “Around 11.20am on Wednesday, 18 October, 2023, police received a report of a dog having injured an 18-year-old man on Anderson Street, Motherwell.

“The man was taken to hospital for treatment. The dog has been euthanised.”
