A TRAGIC tot died in his parents’ arms on Boxing Day after swallowing a battery, it’s reported.
Hugh McMahon was only 17-months-old when he passed away after medics tried to save him.
The Daily Record reports that the child had been rushed to hospital on Christmas Eve after swallowing the button-type battery.
Medical staff tried to save him but he died in his parents’ arms on Boxing Day.
Now his devastated mum and dad are hoping to give him a fitting send off and are appealing for bikers to escort his funeral procession.
The cortege will travel from Motherwell Baptist Church and then on to Hugh’s final resting place in Eastfields, Cumbernauld on January 27.
The tribute is being organised by the Route 66 Motorcycle Cafe in the Lanarkshire town.
And an appeal for bikers to join the funeral was shared on social media alongside a picture of tragic Hugh.
