SCOTLAND’S top-performing secondary schools have been revealed – and you can find out where yours landed in the league table.
The new figures, published by The Times, saw the performances of every secondary school in the country ranked on their average exam results across Highers, Advanced Highers and National 5.
The 2022 league table shows the top 80 state secondary schools in Scotland Scottish based on the average results across a range of exams and levels.
This year’s results were published today in the 29th edition of ‘Parent Power, The Sunday Times Schools Guide 2022’.
It Identifies the highest-achieving schools in the country which are ranked by an average of results in the three years prior to the pandemic in order to avoid the impact of the teacher-assessed grades.
The full schools league table, covering all 340 secondaries, is usually published in the spring.
The latest figures sees Jordanhill, Scotland’s only government-aided secondary school, topping the league table for another year.
The school, in Glasgow’s west end, secured its place at the top of the pile after 86 per cent of pupils achieved the gold standard of five or more Highers (A-C) – down two per cent from 2019, the last year when pupils were assessed with exams.
Meanwhile, Bishopbriggs Academy was named School of the Decade, due its remarkable climb up the league table thanks to its ‘high Academic standards’ and ‘great teaching’.
Other schools who made the top 10 include St Ninian’s, Mearns Castle and Williamwood, all in East Renfrewshire, after scoring between 76 and 80 per cent.
And Renfrewshire’s Gryffe High School moved to the eighth spot.
In Stirling, Dunblane High School fell to fifth while East Dunbartonshire’s Bearsden Academy came in sixth and Edinburgh’s Boroughmuir High School rocketed up to second place.
